Choose local or cloud control for a garage door
A contact closed at the opener and an account reached over Wi-Fi fail in different ways. The two paths below are separate, and the installation notes are not a lab test.
Check the gear before you automate it.

Gates
What to leave alone before you automate a driveway gate
A relay can ask a gate operator to move. It cannot replace entrapment protection, monitored sensors, or the operator's own listing.

Pool equipment
Choose a motor-rated switch for a pool cover pump
Match the switch to the pump nameplate, the wet location, and the ground-fault device already in the circuit. This page does not name a product to buy.
How these notes are written
Prices and star ratings stay off the pages. One Amazon listing is linked, on the garage guide. The pool guide has no product link. Gate guidance keeps entrapment protection in place.
